History
The story behind Davidoff Cigars is a captivating tale and one that sets it apart from the typical cigar company. It all began with Zino Davidoff, heir to a Jewish family living in Russia, now modern Ukraine. Though Zino's parents were successful tobacco merchants in Kyiv, political unrest compelled them to seek a new life in Switzerland in 1911. By 1912, they opened a tobacco store, and it was during this time that Zino embarked on a journey to explore the tobacco fields of South America, immersing himself in the intricacies of the tobacco trade.
Armed with his newfound knowledge and driven by his passion, young Zino set to acquire significant quantities of Cuban tobacco during World War II. Utilizing this tobacco, Davidoff was set to establish a brand of cigars that would soon become renowned worldwide. By 1990, Davidoff relocated to the Dominican Republic, just in time to capitalize on the American cigar boom, a move that proved instrumental in providing Davidoff cigars access to the American market and solidifying its reputation as a paragon of quality.
With the company amassing over one hundred cigars that have earned 90+ ratings and nearly twenty Top 25 Cigar of the Year awards, Davidoff's commitment to excellence is evident in their meticulous selection of the finest tobaccos for their blends. Experience the allure of Davidoff cigars and savor the culmination of centuries of craftsmanship and expertise. With each puff, you will discover why Davidoff has earned its reputation as a true leader in the world of cigars.
