About Me

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. My name is Giorgios and I live in the metropolitan city of Athens. I studied English at the Aristotle University of Thessalonika. But although my original intention was to break into the world of journalism, my real passion was photography so on finishing university I decide that I would try to combine both these skills and launched my career as a photojournalist.

I am so fortunate that my work allows me to travel all over the world and see so many fascinating places. The downside of this although of course is the many hours spent at airports waiting for delayed flights. It was, in fact, thanks to those hours spent in airports that I developed my interest in cigars. Cigars are very popular in Switzerland so they made the ideal gift to bring home for friends and family from my travels.

By chance, a friend who knew of my enthusiasm for cigars suggested that as I know so much about them now that should write about them. Although I didn’t take it seriously at first I decided pitch few articles and very quickly found my expertise and knowledge in demand. But what I really wanted was to share my knowledge on a regular basis with a wide community of cigar enthusiasts, and writing a blog seemed like the best way of doing it.

As more and more people discover cigars there is greater demand for knowledge and I am hoping one day to write an entire book on the subject. In the meantime, I hope you like what you read and will come back again soon to keep up to date with what is going on in the world of Cuban cigars.

All the best,

Giorgios
